Early moto - '70's innovations

I had those wheel covers on my hack in the late 70s. Would love to find a set.

 

Pretty certain the ridged CGs are actually Ambrosios and they pre-date the CGs by many years. They came on some Italian "commuter" bikes and I remember seeing a few sets at various tracks in the mid-later 70s

Thanks, I've always wondered about that because I've seen many anodized Ambrosios, but the ones I got from Lynch, which he called "super-pros"... were not anno'd. These were done with like a candy coat paint over bright aluminum (kinda like DX pedals) Problem is the paint flakes off really, really easy and mine were missing allot, so I had to remove the remaining color with a paint stripper, you can see the leftovers from the backside of the rim.

yup, each rim weighs in at 13 oz!!

Your right I had an og set of c&gs a few years ago red ones and they were painted. No one wanted them back then sold for cheap.
