The OM, Scot Breithaupt has died...

Recommended Posts

A giant chunk of BMX history has gone. Gone with the early departure of a unique human being who succumbed to a disease that can break anyone.

Thank you Scot for influencing and amplifying my linterests in life as a youth. Few have done such a thing for so many.

Today, July 18th, 2015 was the Funeral Service for Scot Breithaupt the BMX legend.

The service was followed by a Celebration of Scot's life at El Dorado Park in Long Beach.

Here's a few photos.  Rained for the first time in about 2 years today!

There were some GREAT stories told at Scot's service yesterday. I could listen to PK talk about the old days endlessly. He's got a great knack for it. Scot's sons also told very touching stories. It was Scot's brother that dropped a bomb I'd never heard before though. It was the story of Scot's name change. Apparently Scott dropped a "t" and though Scot's middle name was originally Allen, he changed his middle name to Alexander, in honor of Ernie Alexander! That is one for the BMX Trivia Master's Series, right there!

... and now you know the rest of the story
