found a PK Ripper

Recommended Posts

I found this pk ripper last week. I know serial numbers don't tell the story so i was wondering what light you SE guys can shine. I stripped the cheap spray bomb paint job and saw some remnants of red in the headtube and a few stubborn places.

85 had straight chain stays so it's '86 or newer -

I see some with a hole in the box behind the bottom bracket. When was that added?

It is a 86-88 frame. 85 had the straight stays. 86-88 was this frame. 89-92 had the cable guides on the down tube for pitbull. 93 still had the pitbull but also added top tube cable guides and cantis. 94 went to just cantis and also is when the PK switched to 1 1/8" headtube and threadless forks. This went through 99. 98-99 switched to the SE Racing downtube decals instead of the gray drip PK decals. Then came the end :)
