What do you know about the connections between BMX and drag racing?

Recommended Posts

Like the title says. These are two sports that I have loved my entire life. I know there's a connection between the two with Mongoose, with Gary Turner, with Jeff Utterback. I'm sure there are plenty more. It'd be cool to have a little topic with all knowledge known about any connections between the two, who's crossed over from one to another. Be it drivers/riders, or builders, sponsors, whatever, any connection at all.

this was posted by Adam Cox in one of the tuf neck / pro neck threads with Superbyke ads etc that was just referenced in a separate bumped tuf / pro neck thread in the past several days.

How 'bout the Mongoose connection?

edit

shoulda read the first post

also, if motorcycles count my cousin ran a RD400 street/drag bike out of Englishtown NJ that I swear was Redline framed or at least swing armed, and of course DG piped. I can still see the logos on the back of his bike before I ever saw one of either brands BMXers

Now THAT is awesome! My current relaxation/decompression hobby is model building, but I don't build cars... this could potentially change that.

I didn't even know this one existed.
