1983 VDC Changa long Ohio pick up and one happy MF lol

Recommended Posts

So a little over a week ago this bike showed up for sale on the web and I sent the guy a msg about it. Turns out he had to sell it because he needs a car and the bike has sat for 15-20 years in the garage we talked about a price and then I never heard back so I thought it was gone.. fast forward a week and the guy contacted me saying sorry and asked if I was still interested I of course said yes and to smooth the miscommunication a bit he said he would even drive and meet me half way (lives 3 hours from my house middle of Ohio) Any rate we met up and man I am happy ! Now I live in Michigan and have never seen let alone had the opportunity to own one at a reasonable price. She had a bunch of BS parts on it like white coster tuff wheels, unknown freestyle bars and a haro seat and a bit of rust. And after less then 24 hours of owing it I swapped out all the crap on it with parts I had in the attic. Like old MCS bars, black OGK mags, DC hinge clamp, stamped Tuf-neck seat post and 180mm single pinch 401’s I love the way it looks and still need a set of grips, chain and brake setup. And way the last pic is how it looked when I met the guy. Ok I got rid of the black mags and robbed peter to build Paul lol and tossed some crusty 7x with bullseye hubs, and set of Cro-mo power bends w/Torker stem, DC hinge clamp in black, IZUM chain and DC 1000 rear dated 83 and found that all of my cables are about 2in short for the 20in TT. Really digging the look now. 137A6BF6-71E5-4B12-87EA-036AA018B848.jpeg7BCF15EE-1710-4D27-B40D-46AA16A876DB.jpeg0EE402BD-BEF5-4060-BE1F-1DA6291218B9.jpeg884E245C-09A0-4781-AD56-2CDD079C6DE7.jpegE0323A8A-BDC8-42FF-876F-4A9A61805F13.jpeg435C3024-25BF-4B08-9F49-5CEC30A93F76.jpeg45B2D55B-D09D-4FB1-9109-7C5E7DE72931.jpeg

I wasn't feeling the Tuff's as well but now it's coming along real nicely. Good job.

Sick stuff... We never had VDC Changa stuff when I was coming up, but I learned to love their frames later on and I eventually learned a lot about more about them here. Aguilar3 always comes to mind, or was it Agular2... Damn, I’m forgetting guys names around here... Anyhow, sorry to ramble... Really nice ride and loving the progression of the project.
