D MAN
I ask because I scored a used Morales freestyle bike frame on the cheep. but it had like 5 or 6 coats of diff color paint added. over the stock factory chrome. I hit it with Graffiti gone. no dice. did not touch the top house paint on frame. so went to heave duty paint stripper. . some one at some time peeped or cleaned frame with what looks like a rough SOS pad . frame looks sweet nice and blinding chrome from 10 feet away. but get up Car show close. you can see all the tiny SOS pad scratch marks. it's just being built to ride like wen I was way younger.. should I leave it as is? it's only OS factory chromed once. or send it out for fresh chrome job ? picture during paint removal
Admin TrulyOdd Posted November 28, 2018 Admin Share Posted November 28, 2018 i always lean towards keeping it original. if the scratches aren't that deep, you might be able to have it professionally, lightly buffed to remove most the marks. on another note. would you mind taking a couple detail pics of the pegs? are they any stamps or markings? I asked about re chroming do to I have NOS Morales factory sticker pack. not sure I want to put it on this chrome or wait for fresh new chrome. RL Paulie
Is it a show bike or a rider? If it's a rider, who cares? Battle scars show character. That bike gives me the itch to break out my flatland bike. I'd like to see if my arthritic hip and shoulder bursitis are going to let me bust out some old moves lol. D MAN
Nice decision. yup if I rechrome frame. then I would hate the used forks. so they would need chrome. so would the Peregrine HP wheels. pretty soon I would have more in it then it's worth. plus it would be way to nice to ride and risck a scratch. so no thank you it stays as is.
