"I'd build a bike around that pad." A wise man one said.

So I did..

Thanks to Dan for the pad, the Preston Petty plate and the rear wheel (which is there for now.) Ernest for the bars and Paul at Classic Cycle in Bainbridge for the base bike..

According to the person who had the bike before Classic Cycle, the bike, as it were, was found near the old BUMS track.

Additional coolness is the Canoga Cycle Center shop sticker.

Not sure who else helped out but thanks.

Always, always the coolest of the craziest 70’s builds.  A true pioneer in this game.  Rick has so much history to pull from he builds great bikes.

Very cool! Every detail about it is just perfect. The Canoga Cycle Center was my go to shop when I lived in Reseda. It was a great shop-

Found this intact Schwinn 1976 catalogue after my wife cleaned out the garage, likely one of her brothers as he was into bikes. Also found a 1978 Motobecane road bike brochure. Bike related porn in both cases.

Re the early Schwinn ad for a BMX specific bike. Likely the result bikes like the one that this post opened with.
