Hi everyone,

can anyone offer some suggestions on how I can stop these cracks that have appeared in the last 12 months on my original 1B plate. I’ve treasured this since the early 80s and it’s been on a high shelf in the garage. I’ve been living in Australia for the last 11 years and summer temps have often been pretty high. I think the plastic is drying out as it ages and therefore going brittle.

any advice would be much appreciated, thanks

I might try a light amount of superglue in the crack.  The gel kind that doesn’t run all over the place.

Drilling a hole at the end of the crack should stop it. You might want to look into it since I don’t know the exact science behind it.
