  1. Soooo a month ago or so, a guy posted on another website that he had a Rebel looptail frame that he got from Richard Lamb's cousin that he went to high school with in the mid 80s. He raced the frame for 2-3 years and its been in his attic (in a couple different locations) ever since and his wife has been on him to sell or throw away all the clutter. He posted a pic and the following post. I commented that he should contact Texasbmx to get the history he was looking for. I also had a friendly chat back and forth with him a few days later. I knew from a convo with Noah that he wanted the frame so I just laid low and waited for that to happen. Last week the owner sent me another email asking if I wanted the frame, because if not, he was putting it on Ebay immediately. I told him I would take it if Noah had passed and he asked what I would pay. I told him I wouldnt play that game. That it was his frame and he needed to set the price. He told me $225 shipped so i payed and it showed up a few days later. The first few pics were as it arrived. Pretty rusty and had green oxidation all over it. I gave it a 24 hour OA bath and then scrubbed it with soap and water and blew all the tubes out with air and then polished it with Neverdull. Only issue is the brakebridge has been beat in for tire clearance with the wheel all the way forward in the drops. OG decals too.
  2. Bought this looptail Rebel 24" frame from Texasbmx. The only other confirmed 24" looptail frame belongs to Seadooit and he bought it new in the early 80s. This frame (like Don's) was originally chrome but was sandblasted and powdered black in 1992 by the second owner. I wanted to get it chromed again but because of the sandblasting procedure to get the chrome off, decided it was safer to powder it. Decals are NOS. Chip at C4 stripped and powdered it as well as cleaned up dropout washer marks and a scar on the underside of the down tube from a front brake hitting it.
  3. I wanted to start a thread showing the products and details of everything Rebel Racing. Go ahead and post your stuff and any info about it....bikes, pictures, uniforms, etc. i'll start showing the differences of the early looptail Rebels me and greyboy just figured out. There are two different versions of the Rebel Racing "General Lee" pro looptails. We've seen pics of the Rebel Racing magazine ad's in 1981 but can't say for sure when the frames were first released. for now, we'll say 1981 through 84. For reference...the pictures show a chrome 1st gen. and orange 2nd gen. Gen 1 pre-serial 19.5" top tube flat brake bridge seatmast angle is similar to headtube angle shorter rear dropouts thin blade-cut seat post cutout on seatmast chainstays are spaced a little wider where they attach to the bb shell 1" top tube diameter seat stays attach to the seat mast at a higher position, even with the top of the top tube Gen 2 serial numbers stamped on outside of rear dropout 20" top tube round brake bridge (have seen a flat brake bridge example also, currently owned by r-reekie) seatmast angle more laid back from head tube angle longer rear dropouts clean seat post cutout on seatmast chainstays are attached closer together on the bb shell 1 1/8" top tube diameter seat stays attach to the seat mast in a lower position, even with the middle of top tube
